Overview

Wilkinson Eyre is a UK based International Architecture practice with a portfolio of national and international award-winning projects and having been twice winners of the prestigious Sterling RIBA Prize.

Brief

A website was required to reflect their brand and to showcase their projects in a far more visually appealing way. They wished to explore the use of Flash to create a dynamic online experience and required a mixture of maintenance and development services following launch, together with a bespoke Content Management System.

Approach

I-D Media invested a significant amount of time with key stakeholders in identifying Wilkinson Eyre's requirements. Competitor analysis and research into existing offline material was conducted. Our solution involved creating a visually stunning website with a focus on showcasing Wilkinson Eyre's latest work.

Solution

The site was developed in Flash to allow for a highly engaging and interactive user experience. Various techniques were used in order to draw visitors into key areas of the website, with considerable emphasis placed on Information Architecture and site navigation.

We developed a bespoke content management system for the Projects and News sections. Wilkinson Eyre can upload images and text via a simple interface with updates visible in real time.

Results

The site was launched in December 2004 and is widely acknowledged in the industry as being highly innovative, generating an exceptional amount of traffic. The site launch was featured in Architectural Review as well as several other publications.

Wilkinson Eyre continues to work on interim updates to their site with a complete site re-design planned for 2009.
